Get the Skinny on What you’re Eating…

Are you looking for that perfect summer read? Are you looking to eat more organic and even cut out meat and/or dairy?  Well then I think I have the perfect book for you.  A co-worker just suggested I read Skinny Bitch, a book on dieting that tells you exactly and consequently crudely what you are eating.

It was written in 2006 by two women who were formerly involved in the modeling industry and its cheeky tone and vegan advocacy is enticing people from all walks of life.  It has multiple chapters on factory farming and animal cruelty that encourage vegan-ism.  It was a New York Times Bestseller and now there are  five related books including a cook book, a book for men and one for those that are expecting! You can purchase the book on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and Borders and you can buy the book on tape from iTunes.  It is also sold more locally at A Room of One’s Own as well as others.

Eating well is a big part of health but also of sustainability, which can often times be overlooked.  When measuring your eco-footprint your diet is a big part of the overall picture, so make sure to consider what choices you are making when you eat, whether you are vegetarian, vegan or non of the above.

Skinny Bitch is informative, life changing for some, and very entertaining.  It is a perfect summer read!  If you have read it, what do you think?  Are you a vegan now?
