The Half Pint Resale- a Place for Clothes and Community

This weekend is the semi-annual Half-Pint Resale – where over 100 different parent consignors offer their childrens’ clothes at a reduced price to local parents.    I am very excited as EnAct will be tabling at the event, letting everyone know about our program.  Half Pint Resale is the brainchild of Lisa Seidel and Ellen Carlson who are dedicated to providing a resource for the community and style for families from all walks of life. They firmly believe that parents should only buy new once they have exhausted all resale options.  Lisa and Ellen both testify they have little if anything to buy new for their families each season and want to make sure other families have the ability to do the same. At Half Pint Resale families can consign their kids clothes and toys and buy clothes and toys at a great price.  All the clothes that are to be donated at the end of the sale are given to Kindred Kids in Columbus Wisconsin.

Not only is the sale in itself a great resource in the Madison area it is also a great opportunity to learn about resources in the community for living a more sustainable life.  For this reason EnAct will be tabling at the event; because after all buying used means that you are keeping items out of our landfills and wasting less- one of the pillars of EnAct!  Half Pint ReSale sells clothing for children ages 0-7 and toys for for all ages.  Be sure to come check it out at the Goodman Community Center- 149 Waubesa Street.  The public sale is on Friday afternoon and all day Saturday.
