The Isthmus, Madison’s free, weekly newspaper, is gearing up to host its annual Green Day event. This year’s Isthmus Green Day takes place at the Monona Terrace convention center in downtown Madison on Saturday, April 16th from 9am to 5pm. Tickets are $5 at the door or free if you walk, bike, or take the bus!

Isthmus Green Day features over 100 booths and exhibitors, speakers and presenters, activities for kids, and more. EnAct will have a booth at the event and is also scheduled to present– we are looking forward to sharing!!

EnAct’s presentation will showcase the participants of this past year’s Greener Faster Challenge. If you aren’t familiar with the program, last August six Madison families took on a year long challenge to reduce their eco-footprint by 40% from the Madison average in honor of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day. At 3pm on the 16th come hear the Greener Faster Participants talk about how they overcame busy schedules, money restraints, and the challenge of changing habits to go greener faster this past year.

Stick around until 4pm to see a demonstration on how to make your own Green Cleaning Supplies so you can avoid toxins and save money in your own home.  You can check out our instruction sheet before the show.

Stop by the EnAct booth to find out about our eco-steps or learn how to be a contestant next fall. We look forward to seeing you there!

First Earthday was April 22, 1970, 41 years ago. Your 40% for 40 years is incorrect. But a good idea.

They actually started the Contest last year for the the 40th anniversary. This year we are searching for contestants to do 41% for the 41st anniversary.
