Coming up at the end of next week, REAP Food Group is hosting its annual Local Harvest: Taste of the Town fundraiser on October 18-20th.  REAP (Research, Education, Action and Policy) Food Group is a local nonprofit that supports both local foods and the farm to school movement.  Through their Taste of the Town event you can dine at any of the 14 participating restaurants and taste the great local favors of this season.  Restaurants will be featuring price fix menus and special menu items focused around local food.  This is a great way to try some of Madison’s best restaurants and support restaurants that buy local at the same time! Take note of  the participating restaurants listed below:

Some highlights to look forward to:  Smoked Bristkett pizza with BBQ sauce from Greenbush Bar, Sweet Pumkin Pastry Pockets from Bloom Bake Shop in honor of the fall season, organic butternut squash risotto from Liliana’s, Housemade Pappardelle with Jordandal Farm Pork from Lombardinos.  Yum! Mermaid Cafe and Umami Dumpling bar will also feature Prix Fixe menus–Take note that Umami is only participating on October 19th.

Don’t miss this great cause as a way to indulge in a wonderful spread of local food and make sure to reap the benefits of Madison’s great nonprofits!
